Maurreen started at IGPS as a student GIS technician in the Traffic Research Unit in February 2015. She was hired as staff data analyst in January 2016. In December 2017, she became a technical journalist.

Maurreen focuses on producing the annual traffic crash report and DWI report, performing quality control to correct the crash database, and editing various materials for IGPS. Her work also includes creating maps and fulfilling data requests. In the past, she has updated the data dictionary and migrated the TRU website to a different content management system. She uses SAS, SQL, ArcGIS, and Python.

Previously, she worked as a newspaper reporter and copy editor and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, including in HMX-1, the president’s helicopter squadron.
