Bio:

David started at the Traffic Research Unit as a student in 2010. Since that time he has overseen many research projects and database developments. Most importantly, David was able to create a custom address locator in order to geocode the over 40,000 traffic crashes that occur in New Mexico annually. This new method assigned coordinates to each traffic crash record, which allows researcher to analyze crashes spatially. In addition to his GIS responsibilities, David also works closely on data requests, community reports, the DWI report, and the Annual report. In 2018, David is collaborating with his fellow GPS coworkers on geocoding addresses for the 2020 Census.
